Quicktender stops its operations
Payment processor Quicktender stops operations
QuickTender, a well-known electronic purse for online gambling associates, announced on Wednesday that it is terminating money processing.
The announcement has appeared on the company’s site and has been sent by e-mail to QuickTender account holders.
QuickTender regrets to say that the service had been stopped. All account holders will receive a notification letter.
In this letter QuickTender claims that the reason of the service’s shutdown is blocking of bank accounts by court order, so the company has no longer right to make any payments. It happened because of further developments related to its major bank processing company.
With regard to those developments the QuickTender service must be discontinued immediately for the foreseeable future. QuickTender added that they are currently unable to say when or if they could process payments of balances that are remaining.
The service stopped two days after U.S. Department of Justice announced a second phase of indictments against internet gaming companies and blocking of their accounts. On Monday the Department charged ThrilliX (from Canada) and BMX Entertainment (Cyprus) with running an illegal gaming business and money laundering. The indictment claims that these companies provided sports betting services on their sites. ThrilliX run Beted.com, while BMX Entertainment had six websites offering betting services.
Moreover, ten domains and 11 bank accounts from Panama, Malta, Guam, Portugal, N.C, and Charlotte were blocked.
Last month similar charges were brought against the founders of FullTilt Poker, Absolute Poker and PokerStars and over 70 bank accounts were blocked. The DOJ is seeking $ 3 billion for penalties.
